Converse County Hospital Foundation Announces New Nursing Scholarship

Douglas, WY - The Converse County Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the institution of a new scholarship especially for Nursing Students attending Eastern Wyoming College in Douglas.  The scholarship works to help two nursing students per rotational year in achieving this critical education in the advancement of providing health care in and to our community.

The scholarship is the direct benefit of the Support Healthcare in Converse County Debit Card recently made available by Converse County Bank.  The funds generated will help to keep this scholarship in perpetual motion, as each time a purchase occurs with the card, a donation is made directly to the fund.  To date, the cards have generated $3,713.90 in scholarship funds with the hopes that as more in our town are made aware of the program the scholarship funds will naturally grow.

“The foundation is so excited to be able to use the funds generated from the Converse County Bank Support Healthcare in Converse County Debit Card for this great project.  The EWC Nursing program has been an awesome addition to our community and we are grateful that we are able to offer scholarships to two deserving students who are pursuing their nursing degree,” said Jennifer Rinn, Converse County Hospital Foundation Director.

“Our board is tremendously excited at the partnerships we have formed with Eastern Wyoming College, Converse County Bank, Memorial Hospital, and of course our wonderful community all of whom have shown such positive support for this endeavor,” said CCHF Board Member Amy Hughes.   “We believe that nursing is truly a vocation, and we are proud and honored to do our part to help support students in furthering their education for this much-needed profession in our community.”

EWC Nursing Program Director, Suzey Delger had this input from the perspective of the program, “This scholarship opportunity means the world to our students who are pursuing their dream of becoming a registered nurse. It means that they can stay in our wonderful community and ease the burden of the expense of receiving a first-rate college education. EWC could not be more proud of our association with MHCC and we treasure that relationship, so do our nursing students! Thank you from the bottom of our left ventricle!”

“The Hospital Foundation is a strong asset to MHCC and our community.  Sponsoring scholarships to assist in the advancement of nursing education is a testament of their commitment to support individuals who live and work here in their journey to become nurses.” Said Memorial Hospital of Converse County Chief Nursing Officer, Cristy Cobb in a statement.

The scholarship application can be found on the Hospital Foundation website at conversecountyhospitalfoundation.org.  If you would like to receive a Support Healthcare in Converse County Bank Card, please visit your nearest Converse County Bank branch location, and we, of course, thank you for your support!
