Welcome Dr. Young

Douglas, WY - Memorial Hospital of Converse County is pleased to welcome Dr. Burk Young, M.D. to our team of physicians in Douglas.  Dr. Young has twenty-four years of orthopedic experience in multiple specialties

including:

• Knee and hip replacement

• Shoulder surgery

• Knee surgery

• Hand and upper extremity surgery

• Hip and femur fractures

• Tibia, foot and ankle trauma

• Pediatric fracture care

• Arthritis care

• Sports injuries

• Joint injections

 

Dr. Young trained at the University of Oklahoma and completed a fellowship at Stanford University (SOAR).  He furthered his work in the area of sports medicine, working with the team surgeons for the San Francisco 49ers and the Stanford Cardinals. 

 

“Our patients and our community have always looked to Memorial Hospital for exceptional orthopedic care.  I know Dr. Young will be a great fit for our community and will be a great partner to Dr. Robertson and Terri Joy Marso, PA-C in our Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic,” said Memorial Hospital of Converse County CEO Ryan Smith.

 

Dr. Young and his family will join our community in Douglas this September, and he will begin to see patients on September 11th.  In addition to working with patients in Douglas, Dr. Young will travel to Memorial Hospital Clinics in Glenrock, Torrington, & Guernsey, WY.  

 

When asked about joining the team at Memorial Hospital, Dr. Young had this to say: "I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the medical staff at MHCC. I have been practicing orthopedic surgery in Vernal Utah and the Uintah Basin for the past twenty years.  I look forward to beginning a new orthopedic chapter and providing solid general orthopedic care to the people of the Eastern and Central Wyoming.  My wife and I both lived in small towns in Utah and Oklahoma respectively and are anxious to become involved with the community of Douglas. Thank you and I will work hard to exceed expectations.”
